Plagron Expanded Clay is a medium with neutral PH, lightweight and recyclable; the right characteristics to ensure a great success for many types of cultivation indoor and outdoor (hydroponics, aeroponics and soil).
It is made with natural clay, transformed into small balls that are cooked to make them porous, allowing good drainage and excellent oxygenation in the root area.
Usually the Expanded Clay is mixed inside the soil and on the bottom of the pot to avoid water stagnations and to make the soil more oxygenated and light.
The roots will benefit more and will be able to branch better inside the substratum.
